Information Stored Locally

The Extension stores the following information locally on your device using Chrome's storage API. This data never leaves your computer:

Important: This information is stored exclusively on your device and can be completely cleared at any time by removing the Extension or clearing your browser data.

External API Usage

The Extension makes requests to the following public API to retrieve market data:

CoinGecko API

• Purpose: Fetch current cryptocurrency price information
• Data Requested: Public cryptocurrency prices, 24-hour changes, and market data
• Frequency: Automatic updates every 30 seconds while the Extension is active
• Privacy: Requests contain no personal information, only cryptocurrency identifiers

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical measures to protect locally stored data:

• Local Storage Only: All data resides within Chrome's secure storage system
• No Server Communication: No data is transmitted to external servers (except public API requests)
• Sandboxed Environment: The Extension operates within Chrome's security sandbox
• Minimal Permissions: Only essential permissions are requested and used
• No Code Execution: No dynamic code evaluation or external script loading
• Read-Only API Access: All external API requests are read-only operations

Permissions Explanation

The Extension requires the following permissions to function:

Storage Permission

Why we need it: To save your preferences and cache market data locally for offline access.

What we do: Store display settings, price cache, and UI state on your device.

What we DON'T do: Collect or transmit any personal information.

Alarms Permission

Why we need it: To schedule periodic price updates without constant background activity.

What we do: Set timers for automatic data refresh (every 30 seconds).

What we DON'T do: Run when browser is closed or track user activity.

Host Permission (api.coingecko.com)

Why we need it: To retrieve real-time cryptocurrency prices from CoinGecko's public API.

What we do: Make anonymous requests for public market data.

What we DON'T do: Send any user information or tracking data.

Third-Party Services

The Extension fetches data from CoinGecko's public API. We do not control CoinGecko's data practices. However, our requests to their API contain no personal information—only cryptocurrency identifiers needed to retrieve public pricing data.

Children's Privacy

The Extension is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since we don't collect any personal information from any users, this applies to all age groups.

Your Rights and Control

Since we don't collect personal data, traditional data rights (access, deletion, portability) don't apply in the conventional sense. However, you have complete control:

• Clear Data: Remove all locally stored data by uninstalling the Extension
• Disable Anytime: Turn off the Extension through Chrome's extension settings

• No Account Required: Use the Extension completely anonymously

Data Retention

Locally stored data (preferences, price cache) persists only while the Extension is installed. Upon uninstallation, all data is automatically removed by Chrome. No data is retained on external servers because we don't use any.

International Data Transfers

Since all data is stored locally on your device and we don't operate servers, there are no international data transfers. The only external communication is anonymous API requests to CoinGecko, whose servers may be located in various jurisdictions.
